Kinder Graduation (Part 1)

At graduation the graduates sang some songs for the parents. Lucas is not a public person so for him to sing was huge. I was so proud of him.

OMG...She is 2

Wow! Where did the time go? How is it possible that my baby is already 2? Amazing! Okay enough of the drama. So Jill is 2 and she so knows it. She is quit the character I have to say. She already has attitude. Here are a few things she is up to currently.

Potty/Monkey Training- She is trying to potty train, she loves to wear panties however, some days are better then others. Her new thing is to try and potty train a stuff monkey that belongs to Lucas. Lucas is really sweet to Jill and allows her to mother this monkey. However if the monkey could talk it would probably scream. This poor monkey spends a lot of time in the potty chair and being cleaned with either wipes or just a bar of soap. When I ask Jill what she is doing she tells me "Monkey Nasty". Once she cleans the monkey she insists the monkey must wear either a diaper if it is bed time or panties.

NCIS- What two year old can identify the TV show NCIS when they see it? Jill can! Grandpa loves to watch NCIS so it is on when Jill gets home from Janicca's. Jill loves to dance with Grandpa to the opening credits.

Pacifier- No more. She switched to a big girl bed and was told her big girls don't have pacifiers. She has only asked for it once and when she was told no she didn't even cry. It was to easy...I was way to lucky.

Clothes- She loves clothes and loves to change her clothes. Doesn't always put the new clothes on correctly but she is trying.

Movies in the car- She insists on watching a movie in the car no matter how short the ride is going to be. Most of the time she only gets to watch the previews. The kids have the previews memorized they have seen them so much...time for a movie switch. Good thing about the movie is that her attention is occupied. In the car when she gets bored she pulls out her pony tails. So as much as listening to the same previews over and over again is irritating I like not having to re-do her hair at every stop.

She is a good girl. Loves her brothers no matter how much they pick on her. If she gets a capri-sun she will get one for Mason and Lucas too. I just love her.

Here is a slide show of the birthday festivities. On her birthday we went to Red Robins it is slowly becoming a family tradition (if you sign up online with their bday club you get a free meal coupon for your birthday...if you tell them it is your bday you get the free sundae) Then Saturday was her family party at Andi's house. It was a wee bit cold out but that didn't stop the kids, Bubba and Brian from getting in the pool.

Happy Birthday Jill!

Look at what I did...by MYSELF (sort of)!

Well last week was a fun and sad week. Jill turned 2 and Lucas Graduated from Kindergarten. So keep checking back for posting for both of those events.

Today's post is more of a brag post for me. I decided it was time to put Jill into a toddler bed. Well toddler bedding is expensive and baby blankets are not big enough to double as a toddler quilt. So wanting her bed to look cute and like a big girls bed I decided to make the quilt myself. Okay so I really had no idea what I was doing and just had an idea and went with it. First I had a coupon for Joann's Fabric store so bonus I was getting a discount. Thanks to my Mom and Aunt Sam for going and being so patient while I looked at every fabric in the store just to buy the first fabric Sam picked out when we first arrived. Then it was cut, pin and try to sew a straight line. I didn't want the blanket to look unfinshed so I even added a trim. I being crazy thought it would be cute since I extra fabric (and I was not going to waste it) if I made a couple throw pillows as added decor for her bed. Well I did it and I think it turned out really good. What do you think?

Okay now for my second accomplishment. Jill is lactose intolerent and I wanted to try and limit the amount of dairy in her birthday dessert. I saw a cute idea about making cupcakes in ice-cream cones. No paper wrapper, you can eat the whole thing, perfect for small children. So I wanted the cupcake to look like an ice-cream cone even though it totally wasn't (that to me was the best part.) Thanks to Alisa who helped me out with the frosting info, I was able to buy thicker frosting so my "Ice-Cream" would hold up. So these are what I made and they were a hit.

Fashion Show

My sister in law Megan is going to fashion design school and for her final project she made this little dress for Jill. She had to present her final project on a model and who better to model the dress then Jill. Here she is. The dress turned out supper cute and Jill was such a good girl.

She's a Pro!

Nascar Day at the Capitol

On Saturday Nascar was at the Capitol. We thought why not bring the kids and a lunch and make a day of it. So we did. We started with a small parade of cars followed by activities for the kids. Bubbles, Coloring, Jumphouses, Face/Arm Painting, etc. The weather was nice and the price perfect...FREE. We also packed our lunch for a picnic in the Capitol Park also...FREE. Watching the kids chase and yell at the squirrels and birds in the park...Priceless. Okay sorry I couldn't resist. Anyways we had a great time and here are some pictures to prove it. (I promise someday I will get a program that makes collages so my posts aren't so long)

Here comes the "Parade" of cars

The Family right after the cars passed

Jill next to the smallest Nascar I have ever seen

Many vendors there: River Cats (kids did not like him so much) Jelly Belly (kids liked them they gave away free jelly beans) Discovery Kingdom (brought a penguin and snake)

Mason test driving the remote control cars

Lucas showing off his flames he had painted

Jill showing off her flower

Mason tried to wait for the painting it just took a little to long for him

At the park the kids had a blast. Jill would run to the trees and yell PEANUTS. She thought the squirrels were just going to come and get them.

Jill with all her peanuts, she was never empty handed for long

Mason pretending to be Grandpa

This rock had 3 good size holes in it. Once Cale found it he never left it. I was putting anything he could find in them. Once the other kids saw the fun it was a party at the "Holey Rock"
