Part II & X-Mas

I know I promised a part II to our Vacation to Disneyland and I started several post for it but I have way too many pictures. I tried to create a slide show to share the pictures but after waiting hours for it to load to my blog and it never completing, I gave up. I am not good at only picking a couple pictures to share. On a different note, for Christmas, Santa (Andi and I) made a picture collage to remind each child of their trip to the Magic Kingdom. So I am going to cheat and I am sharing my children's Santa present and then you can see some pictures from Disneyland.

Family Vacation - Part I

For Christmas I decided to take the kids on a family trip instead of buying a ton of toys that they will play with for a few days and then never again. Granted the trip cost more then the toys but the memories we created will last forever and I have pictures just incase they forget!

We started our trip driving to LA because the ultimate vacation stop is of course DISNEYLAND. But before we started in on that adventure we tried something else. Medieval Times. I really thought my boys would just love it. The King, the knights, horses, fighting...boy stuff right. Well apparently not. Mason was okay with it, Lucas I think was super tried from the drive and didn't really want to play but Jill, she was a total ham. Jill loved watching the entertainment. She would clap, cheer, and she even blew a few kisses.

Us minus Lucas (he didn't want his picture taken) Notice the crowns we cheered for the BLUE Knight

Lucas not wanting his picture taken

Grandma, Grandpa, and Sam
They came with me (you didn't think I was crazy enough to take 3 kids on vacation by myself)

Seated and Waiting

Look no silverware!?

Hard to see but that is our knight on the horse on the right

After the knights were successful in their games they were given flowers from the princess to give to their cheering section. The last award given by the princess to the kinights was a royalty sash. The knight picked Jill to give the final award to. This is Jill receiving her award.

Princesses???

In October Jill and I went and saw Disney Princesses On-Ice. She was so excited to go and loved watching the Princesses skate around. For weeks after the show she would tell people she saw Princesses. Well this morning while I was tying Lucas’ shoes Jill asks me

Jill- “Mommy we go to Princesses?”
Me- “Yes we did”
Jill- “No mommy, I want see Princesses”
Me- “Honey the Princesses are not here anymore”
Jill- “I want see Princesses”
Me- “Okay 2 weeks and mommy will take you to see Princesses Ok?”
Jill- “OK, 2 weeks”

Jill walks away happy with her answer and Lucas looked down at me and says

“Mom does that mean Mason and I have to dress up like Princesses for her?”

Oh my gosh what a sweet boy to offer to dress up like a Princess for his little sister.
What the kids don’t know is in 2 weeks we are going to Disneyland. She can see Princesses there. (shhhhh)

Big Girl Hair Cut

On Saturday Jill got her first big girl hair cut. Some of you may remember that Jill has had a hair cut before given by her big brother Mason but that is a sore subject and does NOT count. Well since that incident her hair has grown out some and I asked her if she wanted to get her hair cut (her hair was all sorts of different lengths) and she said yes! She was super excited about getting her hair cut. When we got to the salon (that's right a salon) she climbed right up into the chair and announced she was getting her hair cut.

This picture was taken a few weeks ago- This is Jill with her "Kolby" hair
"Kolby" hair is a braid- Little boy at daycare named Kolby had long hair and always had a braid.

Jill's hair prior to her hair cut on Saturday

Another before shot, in the chair

The hair cut under way!

Mommy helped hold her head to get her bangs cut. That's right she has bangs!

The finished do

So Happy!

She did amazing. She sat very still and listened and did everything her hairdresser told her to do. Thanks Traci for cutting our hair we love you. Thanks Andi for sharing your hairdresser and for singing songs with Jill while she got her hairs cut, we love you too.

First Tooth GONE!

My sweet Lucas lost his first tooth on Friday evening. It has been loose for awhile so we knew it was coming out soon.

A few Sundays before the tooth came out

After the tooth was pulled
Can't believe he is already old enough to have his baby teeth fall out.

Halloween

What can you say about Halloween? It is what it is. You dress up the kids, take them to parties and door to door, get a ton of candy and then try to keep them from eating it all at once.

The Shower

I went to a Bridal Shower this past weekend for a friend I hadn't seen in like... forever. Okay maybe 5 years but still that is a long time. The shower was great, her friends that I met were nice, but what I really want to share is the gift I gave her. Drum Roll Please...........

Ta-Da

Is that just not the cutest idea ever? It is made out of money yet looks like lingerie. Thanks Ashlie for the idea and help making it. It was a huge hit and if it could be worn it would have fit.

Zing Zang Zoom!

It is that time of the year again. The Ringling Brother Circus is in town. I took Lucas and my Dad last year for the first time and we had a blast. So this year we added Mason, and again good times were had. I think next year we may add more people to our party, because it is alot of fun.

Lucas with his HUGE nachos waiting for the show to start.

Mason and his hot dog, watching and not really sure what to expect.

Grandpa is a softy and the boys wanted Cotton Candy. Well the Cotton Candy came with wizard hats for a crazy price but grandpa bought them anyways (the hats this year were cheaper then the swords he bought last year)

I did try to take a picture of the show but it was to dark and the pictures did not come out

Thanks again Dad/Grandpa for coming...Until next year!

A Donkey?!?

So I know I need to blog but I got nothing. So I figured I will tell you something funny Lucas said. It is Sunday and he is sitting at the table eating lunch. He looks up and asks:

Lucas-"Mom can I have a Donkey?"
Mom- "What?"
Lucas- "A Donkey"
Mom- "What are you talking about?"
**big sigh from Lucas**
Lucas-"I'll show you"
**he walks into the pantry and points**
Lucas-"A donkey"
Mom- "That is a cupcake (Hostess)"
Lucas-"OK can I have a cupcake"

I think he was confused between a Ding Dong and a Donkey is all I can come up with.

School Blessings

When I was a little girl our family had a tradition, that prior to starting a new school year my dad would give each child (that wanted one) a Father’s Blessing. This blessing was special as it came from our dad to us and it was given to help us through the upcoming school year. Well as you know Lucas is now in first grade and Mason in preschool and I wanted them to have the same experience I did. So for Family Home Evening we talked with the boys about the priesthood and why grandpa has the priesthood and what he can do with it. I told them about when I was little and would get a special blessing to help me in school. Then we asked each of the boys if they would like grandpa to give them a special blessing. Instantly they both said yes. Lucas went first, then Mason. Once Mason was done Jill ran to the chair, sat down and looked up at grandpa and says “My Turn”. How can you say no? So Grandpa gave Jill a sweet little blessing. Lastly was our Aunt Sam who also took the opportunity to get her school blessing even though she still has a couple weeks till her school starts again. Then to close our Family Home Evening we made “Back to School” cookies. They were pre-made, just bake cookies with school buses on them. I am so proud of my kid’s decision to have the blessing. I am also so very grateful for my Dad and the Priesthood that he holds and his willingness to bless my children. Thank you Dad!

The Big Day

Well it is here and I can't believe it. Lucas started 1st grade this morning and Mason started preschool. They both did so good going to their new classes. Here they are all ready to go to school.
He looks a little worried in this picture but don't let him fool you he was a champ...I on the other hand had a hard time. This is the first FULL day of school.
Mason has been waiting and waiting to go to school and finally it was time, he was so excited. Till we got to the class then he was a little scared. He is tough and will make friends fast.
Okay Jill didn't get to start school today but the boys got new school clothes so I got Jill a few new things so she won't feel left out. This is her new my brothers are starting school today and I get Janicca to myself outfit.

Here they are my sweet kids.
